Default Help. Electrical f*ck up

I tried to fit a Modifry shift beeper today but I think I've blown a fuse (I hope that's all it is) because the car won't start.

I checked the ECU and ignition fuses under the dash and they looked OK.

The ignition fuse under the bonnet looked OK, but owing to the positioning of the bonnet damper fixing, I mashed up the screw head and had to drill it out. The fuse is definitely blown now, but I don't know if it was because of the beeper or the heat from drilling the screw head off.

I can't get another fuse until tomorrow, but if it doesn't do the trick, what else should I check before I call in the pros?

For info, the scotch locks I used to connect the beeper hadn't spiced the wires properly so I imagine it was shorting out.

Any advice welcome......

I would say you've most likely blown the fuse due to arcing caused by the poorly mating Scotch block. I aways use splices with a decent crimper as per aerospace industry.

I've got some better connectors coming but I got impatient. They should arrive at the same time as my new ignition fuse.

The starter turns over BTW, but the engine doesn't fire up.

More info; I've got wipers, indicators & mirror controls, but no power to lights, central locking, boot release, Windows, Hester fan, radio or hood.

Every fuse I've checked so far looks ok.

"Hester fan" is that something to do with a weird chef who cooks with liquid nitrogen?

Seriously though, I think you are looking at fuse 41, it's a 100A fuse!!!!! It's all I can see in the wiring diagram that is common to some of the bits not working. As it's a 100A fuse and it got shorted could be your non starting cause or it might feed the fuel pump?

That one looks fine, Rich, although I'll double check it. It's the battery fuse, so I assumed if that had blown, nothing would work. Is that not the case?
