I'll PM you my bank details for that pound ;-)

Honda have swapped the coil packs about and turns out one of them is shot. Problem is they're asking strong money for them (£190 with a 5% discount). Anyone know where to get new ones any cheaper???

You can get a full set from the US of A for less than that.

However they really need changing in sets, if one has gone, you can bet your life another is on the way to failing - change them all and then sell your working ones on ebay to someone who doesn't care.

Try PM'ing some of the blown engine brigade here. Someone must have a set.

Or even just one, for now.

Then order a new set from the 'States.

Decat usually throws a CEL, not a blinking CEL of imminent destruction.

Are OEM coil packs made by NGK? If so I might have found some new ones here in the uk?

The OEM parts are Denso. Found some OEM on a salvaged MY08 with 7k on the clock, BUT different part numbers. Checked with Honda and indeed the part no for 2004 is different and didn't superseded to 2008.

Looks like I'm going to have to take a hit on this as the car is at the stealers so I can't leave it there while I wait for the correct parts to come in from the US.

B@##@€!<$!!!!

IIRC, MB recently posted a thread about coil pack options - have a search.

I'd still want the valve clearances checked / adjusted under the correct conditions however.

Great hook up Loftus, definitely useful to anyone who's got this far through this post. See here: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/103...age__hl__coils

Thanks buddy, you might have just saved me a bung so long as I can keep the car where it is for the next week or so?

Cheers for posting that coilpack thread - it passed me by last year. So you're going for Rockauto are you ? Let us know how you get on with price and delivery times.

Yes, www.rockauto.com. Buying and fitting all four should be working out the same as Honda fitting just one! Will keep you posted
