Cheers Mike, your a legend!
Yeah, I believe you have to drop the subframe to fit the clutch as you can't get to the bolts at the top of the gearbox otherwise, thing is I think it knocks the front geo out so you have to get it aligned as well.
What uprated clutch kit is that? Any lightened flywheels that are good you know of?
Ps the battery swap is a expensive way to check if the alarm is knackered lol
Cheers

Clutch wise, you could drop Blue Monster a message and ask what type of clutch he is using, as far as I am aware he is using the Science of Speed Supercharger kit and maybe of some assistance to you in this department.
You can use an OEM clutch however the more power you start putting down the faster it will ware - I am exploring supercharging at the moment and have decided to go for a stage one bolt on at this moment in time, run that until the clutch says NOOOOO, and then upgrade to something better. I am several years away from being able to afford a SC setup though!
I have to agree with you in terms of the battery swap being an expensive alarm test! I got a halfords battery for £60ish, however just to fix the alarm is it worth it? who knows I could still lock my car using the other fob (not the engine immobiliser one that arm the alarm), or just key lock it, rip the standard alarm out and save some weight.
I wouldnt be too fussed to be honest about the alarm if you have a private drive and/or a garage.

Hi, My mate has just opened a garage in Ransomes indust est ipswich.
They specialise in performance cars and have worked on my own S2. Their prices are very reasonable too.
Let me know if you would like their telephones number.

Hey mike,
the science of speed is the one I'm looking at too, good bit of kit, reliable ,and well priced , yeah I'll defo drop him a PM , as I'd like an uprated clutch that's still drivable around town etc , yeah the alarm doesn't sound, but it does immobilise , so yeah, might even leave it until next year
Hey Ginger
