Question Help Please - Replacement Shock Absorbers - Which ones & where from?

Hi all,

After 134k miles my shock absorbers have had enough.

Currently the car is completely standard apart from a replacement headunit & used as my daily driver only; never tracked & no intention to.

Please could anyone advise me as to the best option to replacement the shocks? Keen to retain as standard as possible & obviously cost effective.

Thanks for reading my post & I appreciate all help.

Brent

I had Koni sports (the yellow ones) on my second S with stick springs and I really rated them. OEM spec but adjustable .

^^^
I replaced original with Koni yellows at around 120,000 miles. Big improvement over knackered old shocks and if set on full soft bit more comfy as a dd

Thanks both

After chatting to the guy at Euro Performance, I think I'm going to go with the Koni STR.T's instead of the yellow's.

I'm keen to keep the car as close to stock as possible (OEM replacements are crazy money), it's my daily driver so think the adjustable might be overkill & I'm a bit concerned that if I fit the adjustable's it'll mean updating the insurance to include the 'mods'.

You will have to notify your insurer but it's not likely to make much difference tot he premium, provided you don't lower it too much.

Even with the SRT.T's ?

I've been told they're pretty much a replacement for the OEM part & don't lower the vehicle at all.

In which case, you won't need to say anything but it might be worth asking/notifying them, especially if there is any lowering.

Alternatively, join up as a paying member and place a WTB as there are lots of people with spare shocks lying around.

Not sure about the s2k platform but the strt konis have a terrible reputation in the miata community.
