If I don't get help the parts will just end up sitting in my garage as I have no way of getting them on & I don't trust any of the garages round where I live for this kind of work.

Any takers?

Martin, I will do all of this for you, and your tappets, I just need a weekend free. I need to check my shift rota so see what I can come up with. It might not be until March, but I will get there

BM, no experience of fitting one of these and don't have any tools but willing to help out if needs be. Work across the river from you on zone 3.

If you want a good garage to help out I can recommend either Chess Motors or DJ Motors on Parkgate road on the way into Chester. Neither are S2000 speciallists but I've used them both before and the guys are competent mechanics. Particularly Duncan at DJ Motors who's done a few odd jobs on mine

Depends on the shape of the manifold.

Halfords axle stands are easy enough, although the problem occurs if the new manifold has silly bends.

You then need to remove drive engine mount and, without wishing to induce panic, lower the engine a bit in order to gain clearence.

I'm a dab hand at this anyway

Ron, sounds like a plan - just let me know when you can do it. I am off work the last week of February if this helps at all when looking at your shift patterns.

I have the basics like a 2 tonne trolley jack & a set of axle stands which you have used before when you changed the oil in my diff & gearbox

Although you are welcome to take your own if you feel more comfortable with your own equipment.

Cheers
Martin

Just done mine, got it down to a fine art!

If you have some, i'd spray some never seize on the manifold nuts before Ron gets there. They can be a bugger, unless you have a slim socket with good leverage.

Right, Sunday 20/02/2011. I do have Saturday off, but that is the day I finish my last night shift, so unless it has to be Sat, Sunday is best for me

Hopefullly the weather will be dry!
