Welcome, hope you enjoy the car as much as we all do... just make sure to keep the oil up... I can't stress it enough!! I mean check it like every day until you get an idea as to how much it drinks, now I top mine up every weekend just to be sure

10W40 fully synth OK? or is there something "better" i should use?

10W 40 is ok.

I prefer a 5w in this weather but it's not really a big issue.

See what the manual says though

Top it up with whatever is in at the moment, or do an oil change with that oil.

I use 0w40 Mobil 1 in this weather but apparently it kills the timing chain tensioner. Unfortunately I found this out after changing my oil and I am loathed to waste £40 worth of oil for a possibility!

But yeh 10w40 will be fine

^^ is it the mobil 1 or that fact is 0w ?? that wrecks the TCT?

I think it is because it is Mobil 1, apparently Castrol Edge is much better.

In saying that, I have been using it since December and the engine is running as strong as ever...so meh

I'll just change to Castrol next December.

A lot of us use castrol edge TD 5w40, yes I know it says diesel, but it works great in ths S.
