What did HKS say about the fault? Sending you a new one is great customer service but the issue hasn't been fixed. How could we know for sure it's not gonna happen again on the new kit?
Not heard anything as of yet, although i haven't asked.

Hendy took it back, sent it to HKS europe which then was going to be sent to japan. But the fault was pretty clear to being the same as the BRZ / my friends charger with the stripped threads.

Obviously nothing has been changed with the second charger i received so one would assume it will happen again. I really hope not.

Who's to say it wasn't caused by the flutter i experienced though? and if it was it shouldn't break again as i fixed that issue.

And if others who have the charger experience the same stripped threads will HKS offer a revised charger for owners?

I could be worrying over nothing, and i am in no way slating HKS, Just as it stands i cant recommended the product until worries have been put to rest.

Over tightening of the belt may cause a breakage?

Not sure, last person to tighten my belt was Chris at EFI, it was a brand new genuine HKS belt, and Chris had to make it pretty tight to stop it slipping, i marked the exact position in pen before i uninstalled everything, so its back to the same tightness that Chris put it to to stop it slipping

Pictures above (not mine) show the failure of the threads on the charger

Makes you wonder if maybe we should take the chargers apart and take a look...

Doesn't look to be much disassembly required, but i wouldn't fancy possibly voiding warranty to have a look at the threads unless the charger broke and was not offered warranty

I wonder if you could drill and tap two holes 180 degrees from eachother and fit two small grubs screws in there. Would prevent the housing from moving and the thread from being damaged. Only problem is room and whether it will put it all out of balance. If thats the issue that causes so many charger failures then HKS need to get it sorted. There must be a better solution. I did also think whether some decent loctite would hole the threads together more evenly and spread the forces. Would make it a bitch to dismantle thou

AA/RAC/Green Flag will be useful, I think.
