Default Engine alternatives?

Hi All
I've been having nothing but problems with my S for the last 4-5months...
engine rebuild gone wrong plus loads of little issues to get it through MOT
I'm starting to think that the engine is probably knackered and might have to get a replacement...
so, I was just wondering if there are any other engines about that would go into the S2K nicely?
or is it best to just stick with an F20c?
Thanks

People have installed K20, as well as V6 Honda and V8 LS engines.

Tim is flogging a motor after binning his track car, they do come up. You could try Integrastella too.

i think if you can one for £2.5k and spend £500 getting it fitted you're doing well. Now might be a good time
of year as people traditionally start to embark on a bit of hedge demolition in the colder months.

Failing that fit an LS V8 and wave goodbye to your savings forever haha

did you get a refund on the dodgy rebuild?

I'll keep a lookout. the garage that done the rebuild are actually a good bunch, they were just as shocked as me when I told them it happened, they have the car at the mo so whatever needs to go in I wont be paying for anyways.

was looking at 2JZ's but they're quite dear for a decent twin turbo one and lets face it, if you're going 2JZ you want the blowers too

People put K20/K24's in along with the usual LS V8 swap. Personally, if my F20 conked out on me, I would go full nuts and have a K24 frankenbuild with ITB's, which would be good I hope for 300bhp or close to it with a load more torque, but still retaining that razor sharp N/A throttle response.

Another F20 will work out better $ that's what I done when my F20 sleeve was scored from bore wash.
I got another 58k one for a very very good price.
The cost of best Darton sleeve job cost worked out £3K-£3.5K inc bearing gasket pistons rods ect
then after 20k mile before another rebuild is probably needed due to piston wear for non oem forged pistons <after one rebuild start again>
the K swap needs lots of other parts to get,an oil surge issue to solve, ECU dyno costs and motor mounts, sandwich plate adapters costs
Oh and getting a good engine K20/K24 that's a gamble also.
V6 in this country has limited power output also or get one from USA
And the final value of a modified S2000.

This is the sort of work you need to do, in order to install a J32/35 or 37:

V6, J-Series 2002 Honda S2000

Utterly pointless on an old banger, really.

Get an F20C.

Id probably try a K24 from an Accord (dirt cheap here in Ireland) and just have that put in with the conversion kit and see how it goes with extra torque. After that you can add a CTR head and some bolt ons for more power.
