Anyone ever had any experience with Hondas UK. They are independent importers of UK spec cars from Europe.

They basically have a sales office in Central London, and the cars are delivered through Hull.

They have a very good reputation - a number of people on the board have bought cars through them. A search should be able to locate a few threads with testimonials in their favour.

I was at one stage going to import through myself and found the principal, Nick Emmanuel, to be very helpful.

They do shave a few grand off the UK list price but I had never heard of them.

I'll try and dig out some testimonials.

 

No experience with these people, but please let me/us know how you get on. I must admit that I thought that the movement of the Euro against Sterling mean't that European imports would be struggling on price. You can see in the trade books 1-2 year old some UK spec in other makes appreciating in value as the european price advantage has been eroding!

I had to keep chasing for updates on delivery but thats nothing new.
Got mine from there and have had no issuses so far.

Well none that will concern them but Honda UK will be getting a shirty letter of complaint but that another couple of stories.

I got mine from Nick at HondasUK a year and a half ago - absolutely first-rate service and I would definitely recommend them.

 

My own expeirence was similar to Mark T's - Nick was very helpful and whilst I didn't buy a car from him in the end as I decided to get a UK car, I certainly would approach him again if I was considering an import. He also mentioned fitting a third party CD changer for not many

 

Thanks guys....Nick has clearly made friends on this board through his service, though I am a little nervous about the delivery delays which are frequently mentioned.

Oh well, just have to make a decision and live with it. I test drove the S2k and an Elise on the weekend and fell in love with the S. The Elise just pissed me off after the initial appreciaton of its handling.

 

Robster, someone else on the board posted a thread about Andrew Green Exclusive Cars/Hondas UK a few weeks ago - IIRC they couldn't get hold of anyone and wondered if they were still trading.

Also IIRC someone else chipped in that their Honda showroom in Ilkley looked abandoned. Moggy seems to live nearabouts and if you send him a PM (personal message) he might be able to shed some more light.

I got my car from Nick Emanuel too and he's a nice bloke, and although I had to chase him on a couple of issues it wasn't any more hassle than going through a dealer.
