Default The horn

Some daft bint pulled out on me last night... real you've-seen-me-coming-and-I'm-only-50-yards-away-so-you'd-be-crazy-to-pull-out-but-you-have type moment.

As I slammed on the brakes, I thought (for the first time in nigh on 4 years for I am not prolific bib-er) you need to be tooted for that love... it was shocking.

Anyhow, slapped the centre of the steering wheel (it actually took me a split second to recall where the horn was ) and.....

toot

Question, is ther a cheap/easy mod to make the horn a bit more beefy? I think I was more embarrassed than she was

In a recent survey the bbc reported on about a month or so ago, the S2000 came in the top 3 most aggressive sounding horns, seem to remember the TT was one of the meeker ones.

Push harder!

It's a horn. Who cares

To be more constructive a lot of people have upgraded, try a search. There are 2 and one is in the front bumper IIRC.

Hellfrauds do replacement horns - I swapped the crappy OEM one in my 02 for a rather more meaty FIAMM two tone electromagnetic horn set. It was frankly embarrassing sounding the stock horn!

(I'm sure people have posted here that it wasn't hard to fit them. I got the stealer to do mine whilst it was in for service - they charged me 30 mins labour to do it, but it ended up taking the mechanic more like 1 hour 30 mins, as they had problems mounting one of them)

No such problems with the 04 - it has a proper man's horn!

Road Runner springs to mind.. !!!

" meep meep.... "

I saw some mates walking down the road on the way into work this morning and my instant reaction was to toot the horn but then I reacted quickly.....with my right hand, knocked my left hand out the way which was about 2cm's from the horn (picture it in slow motion.. !) and yelled out the window !!!!!!!

My Corrado had a meaty one....was proud of that horn !!

I wouldn't contest in car park catchphrase on radio 1...thats for sure.

Chris Moyles : And what car do you drive ?
Shane: A Honda S2000 !!
Altogether: MMMMM..... NIIICE WHEELS... !!!!

Lets hear those horns !!! errrrrm......

I fitted a set of electromagnetic horns myself, took about 20 minutes, just cut the wire going to the original horn and re-routed it to the new ones, didn't have to take off the bumper but it was a bit fiddly.

No more embarrasment though

What a load of sh*te...its useless..impotent...rubbish. Open your bonnet, cut out the horn and throw it as far away from your car as possible.

Pop to halfords and buy yourself
