How do you insert pictures into a thread on this new forum?

How do you insert pictures into a thread on this new forum?
As per the title suggests - how do you do this?
On the old forum it was easy - select from your gallery and insert...simples!
Now, it's pot luck, select, insert, press all the buttons together and then get an error message like:
You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board.
Any ideas, pointers, clues, idiots guide?
