I used to find that my roof would settle (ie. sit lower) after a few miles.

Check to see how low it will go when warm and settled before fiddling with the stoppers ...

It is not a neat and tidy set-up like modern cabriolets. We drive a traditional roadster, we like rough and ready.

Just shove below the glass as it goes down. It'll work perfectly.

Plus clean the inside of the hood

Oooooo-errrr missus!

Just put a little pressure on the glass as its folding flat, you will feel it drop into place better. Many of them seem to do this, especially if cold or not folded recently.

When looking in the rear view mirror, the centre of the hood (ie the manual handle depression fitting thing) is just below the rear scuttle (the back of the car) so it's not obstructing any rear view.

No it's not a GT model and it's a 2001 so got the plastic rear window, not glass. It's always only ever done down as far as that picture in the couple of months or so i've owned it

The warm / cold issue is valid.

Also the 04 onwards seem to sit higher than 00-02

Mine goes down as far as red s2000 I think. Another question here, when the roof is down like that is there anyway to silence the roof catches (other than throwing a jacket over them) .... drives me mad sometimes.
