How much to pay for a Facelift GT

How much to pay for a Facelift GT
Currently own a FN2 Type R and love it. Can't see me getting rid of that for quite a while as it's such a fun car but also very practical. However ever since doing a few roadtrips to the US in a soft-top each time, I can't get the idea of getting an S2000 out of my head. I'm looking for a 2004-2006 model (the facelift but also the one that's still reasonable on tax). However the prices seem to be all over the shop when looking around. For example, I've found, what appears to be a perfect example; A March 2005 GT with hard-top and stand, around 65,000, moonrock grey with black/red interior, FSH, great bodywork etc etc but it's priced at £11,500… Is that a lot? I'm getting very confused by it all!! Looking at the price guides that exist they seem to say around £9k but I sometimes don't think they take in the current desirability of cars.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. Thanks for pointing out the AP2 error in my original post… Now changed to Facelift ;-)

Prices do seem to vary greatly these days, especially for UK facelift models (not known as AP2 in the UK but we know what you mean) I keep an eye on the market and I haven't spotted a bargain for a while. 2004 facelifts with 65K on the clock seem to be advertised for around £10K-£11 but I have no idea if they are actually selling at that price !! Ideally I think you'd be lucky in the current market to find one advertised for £9K but I bet you'll be able to get some good haggling in January or February when nobody has seen daylight for months

I'll be the first to correct you, as no doubt the "AP" police will not be far behind.
UK only had AP1. AP2 refer to the 2.2L for US market. We have AP1 Pre-Facelift and Facelift.
As for price, it is a difficult one. Prices seem to have gone up in recent months / year, but ultimately, a car is only worth as much as you are willing to pay.
For example, the pre-facelift (non-GT) car from Wheeler Dealers seems to be going for £8K+ with 121K miles. Obviously it is worth that to someone, but in my view highly over priced.
Looking at current prices, I would suggest a good quality, low mileage 05 GT will be around the 10 - 11K.
Go look at the car, drive the car and decide if its worth the money.
Good luck car hunting.

I was looking for ages before I bought mine so I've seen the market change over the last couple of years. 10-11k is the average for a good pre march-06. 9k sounds really cheap in the current market for something matching your requirements

You do get the odd off-the-wall idea though, not sure what the reserve would be but an interesting colour and tuning mods http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1999-HONDA...-/151852910998 although when I looked before there wasn't the; "only one problem and that's the O2 sensor" message there.
If you could pick that up for about what it is at now (£3950) it would be equally as fun (maybe more so in some people's book) as a £10-11K UK facelift model.

OP I don't think 11.5K is too much for a nice example GT but at that price I would want it to be completely mint and not needing any work.
