Not much point for NA gain unless you're 2.2 or more, but agree with Ron's points.

As above, the weight is the only factor for me.

My supercharged car (16psi) makes more power with a 60/50mm dual than with a 3" dual.

Pipe design is different so they are not directly comparable but a good indicator that OEM pipe size is enough.

You loose more down low than you gain up top with a 3" exhaust, from my experience.

Has the de-cat made the exhaust rasp, as I hate this and will avoid if thats the outcome?
Not in the slightest bit raspy. Snaps and crackles lovely on the overrun, brings the exhaust mod alive IMO, was always a little too subtle, even when you were on it, either that or I am going deaf

Thank you to all those whose input was more valuable than others.
Great news, car is having the Exhaust mod done next week and I was wondering whether to have the centre silencer removed too, but it sounds as though a de-cat is a better solution

A GOOD reason for replacing the stock exhaust if tracking is what you want to do, otherwise as Blackadder said, "It's like a pencil with no lead......pointless."

Always better going with something less permanent. Here's a video of mine for an idea.

It's also more than likely to be around 10kg, based on this listing, especially at £600: https://www.s2ki.com/...xhaust-weights/ only the very lightest titanium items will save you as much as 20kg, and Ron is quite right that you'll not notice the difference either way.

It's also worth noting that a £400 carbon bonnet has a good chance of being heavier than the OEM aluminium one.

It is all relative and depends on future plans such as boost. My custom 70mm Twin with 70mm Tpipe and Megan manifold gained 40bhp midrange and 20bhp peak.
What difference it would of actually of made with the standard exhaust on its own wasn't worth finding out given that the map would need changing so i just did all i could and then its done.

Remember that any aftermarket system is likely to drone pretty bad.

I know what you're on about there fella.

I've just purchased a Tegiwa Manifold, which the collecter size is 63mm, test pipe is 63mm and oe catback in 63mm right up to the collecter for the two pipes.

All being well I hope to get a HKS charger kit for her 12-18 months down the line. So I could get the catback ready for then.

Think i'll get it mapped with the oem catback for now and let you all know the results

TGM, when you have a spare weekend we will have to meet up so you can have a listen as to what you think
