I did see 2 MX5's with their tops down but a half-hearted effort as they both had the windows up
The MX-5 was designed from the outset to be driven with the hood down, to the extent that the wing mirrors we so shaped as to deflect the airflow from entering the cockpit.
In practice this worked, but to minimise draughts even more, winding the windows up made the cabin even cosier, and also provided some shelter from sudden crosswinds.
Oddly when solo driving, having the passenger window up, and the drivers window raised by about 4" made the cabin 100% draught free.

Honda could learn a lesson here. Unless you are a midget & can snuck down very low, whether the windows are up or down the cabin is a draughtier place. Goodness know what it was like when the car was launched sans wind breaker.
Not that I would change anything, I just don a warm coat and scarf more often.
