Update - The guy called me today, very apologetic, said he didnt even realize he had done it.

Asked me to get a quote for repair and he will take care of it. A rather nice guy actually.

Just saw this thread and was going to say give him a chance first as its genuinely easy to graze another car and not notice when your in something as big as a 4x4/MPV. Hell, I nudged a Corsa in my 200SX once in traffic and didn't know about it till the guy in front got out the car and started taking pictures of my number plate!

And he probably would have made an attempt to wipe the red paint off his MPV if he had done a runner on purpose.

Well, the trouble is, i had the ass sprayed a few months back, and the nob heads used the wrong colour paint, so its slightly different. Was planning on having it redone at some stage to get it to match better.

Just a small point, but important. Whilst everything seems to be working out at the moment, do be aware that CCTV evidence doesnt last for ever. Dont know what system you have, but at some point soon it will be overwritten/recorded over and the 'evidence' will have disappeared.

Only the police can demand a copy officially, but you might like to ask your system people to put a copy to one side, just in case it all goes pear shaped when he sees the cost of the repair - wouldnt be the first time someone has got cold feet when confronted with a nasty bill. What, me cynical? Nah!

CCTV has already been overwritten unfortunately, but the guy is happy to sort it out.
