A friend of mine's S was a Cypriot import. Not BB is it? 57 plate?

Are you willing to disclose the price you are paying? That way we would be able to give you an opinion on whether the car is worth it or not knowing the history of it.

Out of warranty there is bugger all difference, it is worth exactly the same as a UK car. Insurers do not differentiate between UK and EU (RHD) cars.

So confirmation: Honda Uk have confirmed it is a Cypriot imported car. Only real differences being the original Warranty 3 year/60000 vs 3 year/90000, the absence of locking wheel nuts and occasionally different head units for the radio.
Priced in the region of £16000. Which I didn't feel was bad given what's on the market presently at dealers and the usual summer inflation ( I realise a private sale is cheeper and have missed out on 2 so far which were cheeper) . However being an import may well affect this. However I intend to hold on to the car for some time, I have managed to validate the Full Honda Service history.

Presently in discussion with the dealer on a reduction. However to be honest even knowing is and EU import it is still produced in the same place and it the car I've been after for some time. Right age, right colour and right milage and condition.

It's probably illegal.

I wouldn't be put off if it's what you want and there aren't decent alternatives. Spending £16K on an S2000 seems a bit crazy.

Make sure you get a warranty that covers the engine.

I would agree with the above - £16k is strong money for the car, personally i wouldn't pay that much for it, more like £14k if that to be honest but thats my own opinion.

I was wondering what differed on the VIN ?
Mine was imported new from Cyprus, straight to a UK dealer and then sold as 'new'.
It has a UK headunit and wheel locks etc and as far I know, does not differ in anyway from a 'UK' car.

From this thread, it seems a few came in via Cyprus, any thoughts on why ?

Seems as though the main dealers have got on the price surge bandwagon. Norton Way Letchworth have an 09 Bermuda Blue GT with 46k on the clock for £18k! So this seems like a reasonable deal given the mileage.

I bought my 09 roadster three years ago from the same dealer with 27k on the clock for £14.5k (incl extras)
