Independant Service specialists
I feel like I've just been kicked in the nuts! 54k mile service is due now and Avonvale Honda have just quoted £550 min. I know it's a big service interval but even so I don't really want to spend that much.
I've decide that I am never selling the car, so I'm happy to get it serviced by an independant from now.
Does anyone know/or has used someone in the Warwickshire/West Midlands area or even used: http://www.servicingstop.co.uk ?
http://www.servicingstop.co.uk look good value but I do worry about the lack of expertise on this kind of vehicle.
Any ideas?

Try some other dealers, you can certainly obtain a much better price than that. Find a dealer that offers a 10% S2KUK discount for a start. http://www.s2kuk.com/s2kuk/Benefits/Dealers.php
Also, supply your own spark plugs (that's a big saving straight away) and you may save something on other oils. Opie, a trader here sells them for decent money http://www.opieoils.co.uk/product-finder.a...k-plugs#results

I don't know of any independents in the Birmingham area, but I now use Colliers Honda in Erdington for servicing. I have used Avondale in the past. August 09 would have been my 54k service but the car had only done 34k miles, so they suggested no need to do the valve clearances or plugs, and they charged me £220 for what otherwise would have been the 54,000 mile service. Some here might say that is a lot, but it is a lot less than it sounds like you're being offered. Erdington train station is just 5 mins walk from the garage, so I drop it off in the morning and get the train back to town, then get the train out to collect it in the evening after work. Easy. They do a good job too.

Do the hour and a half drive to Garage R in Barnsley. It' worth the trip and the money you soend in fuel will be less than the amount you save. Plus Rub is a good guy and you should support independent businesses.
