Hello all,

I will soon be in the market for an S2000, not sure what year but up to 2004 looks in my price range.

There is so much good information on this site regarding buying, which is awesome. My question was as I live in Billericay, Essex, does anyone here have knowledge of good independent garages nearby that can carry out servicing etc?

I prefer independent than main dealer personally.

Hi Ian,

I'm in Chelmsford and unfortunately I haven't found any decent independent mechanics around.
I actually used Glynn Hopkins main dealer in Chelmsford for a service and the valve adjustment recently and they were fine. The cost wasn't too bad as
Honda offer fixed price servicing on older cars.

that is good to know, to be fair I mention indepdent garages however when I had a 2007 petrol civic (best all round car I've ever owned) I took it to Honda in bexleyheath when I lived in Bromley and they were really good. They had that higher level service but without the price tag.

i assumed that didn't translate to older cars but if it does happy days.

Go get one it will be one of the best decisions you ever make!
there are a few for sale at the moment, more seem to come up on the Facebook groups than here.

basically buy the best one you can and don't get hung up on the road tax It is nothing compared to the petrol you will get through!!

They are awesome, ever since I was a passenger in one circa 2001 it's been on my mind. It was only a 10 minute drive so shows you it stayed with me. Besides my '96 CBR 600-F needs some honda company :-)

I've seen some on Autotrader and ebay, I have around 7.5k to spend which should hopefully get me a tidyish one. Would you mind directing me to the Facebook groups, is it general buy/sell or is it more an area specific sales group?
