installing a new oem clutch
 

Hi all,
Am soon to put a new clutch into my S2k. Am intending to photo most of the stages involved. Has this been well documented already along with photos ?

Chris has a good tutorial here. I followed it (with his guidance) a few weeks ago. I'll come back with more detail when I'm home, I have a few extra pointers etc. Took me a week, right pain in the ass it was!

Thanks guys , I've actually done one before alongside the workshop manual. Was really just wondering if some photos would be of any help to anyone.

I think the one bit that's easily missed is the bit in Chris' DIY "Pull the clutch fork out of its pivot groove." after removing the slave cylinder - when you realise you can't separate the gearbox think back to this post :)

Ahh I see, looks like we all assumed you wanted a guide... Haha

But yeah, always good to have photos and guides from different people, may pick up a trick or two!

One thing I've always done is unplug the knock sensor, when you've got all your extensions stuck together to get to the top starter motor bolt (always easier with the alternator out of the way) it's very common to clump the wiring harness under the intake manifold, which of course will pull on the (usually old and brittle) plastic part of the knock sensor which will of course break!

Good guide! I would add on re-assembly that a good smear of high temperature grease, on the input shaft, pressure plate fins and clutch fork. Will make the clutch feel 100 times smoother !

Also adjusting the clutch free play will make the clutch. And putting fresh clutch fluid in and gravity bleeding. (<< I would try this before replacing the clutch IMO).
