Just renewed my policy.....had a 58 Civic type R last year and swapped to the s2 for last 2 months. They only charged me £20 extra for last 2 months (maybe admin fee) and the renewal was almost exactly the same as prevous year.
I'm with "marketstudy insurance" through sky.

I placed a call with my existing insurance company today to inform them I am moving on and request they prevent the recurring renewal.
I expressed that I was disappointed to have to select a competitor given that I had been with the same company for a number of years and I thought their services were good.
Also mentioned that I was somewhat surprised that my healthy no claims discount didn't play a larger factor.
They commented that my loyalty should have a greater part to play and dropped the quote below the competition. The net effect was £140 less than the online quote!!

Something to bear in mind.

Guys,

I appreciate this is a boring thread and they pop up all the time, but my insurance is due for renewal in 3-4 weeks. I know insurance has gone up but not by this extent.

I do shop around, I was paying around £1100 a year for my car which has a supercharger and other modifications, i have also gained another years no claims.

Now i went on gocompare and confused.com and i cant believe the lack of insurers and prices i am getting quoted!. Most are at least £500 more than what i paid last year and there isnt as many willing to give me a quote (last time the page results were full).

FFS, have things really got this bad?

Are there any insurers who are good with modifications?, I'm 27 and have 4 years no claims ATM.

Cheers

I think the insurance companies are trying to recoup their losses after all the payouts caused by the snowy weather. At best I think you'll do well to pay the same amount as last year.

Try Chris knott, they were £300 cheaper than Flux when I had the SC fitted
Do you have a daily driver? Insuring the S without commuting to work cover and a milage limit can have a good effect
