It's dam well Packed up,!

Well on way to tennis tonight , about. 3 miles up the road brief flash of the old engine warning symbol , engine cuts out , coast to stop .

All dash lights up correctly other than green engine symbol and engine turns over fails to start

Breakdown guy suspected fuel pump and that does have legs , no fuel pressure at fuel rail , and no sound of pump running , fuse Ok and power either side of fuse .

So any body else had the fuel pump fail like, this ?

Other than that any other ideas for the weekend other than kick the tyres and drink a beer

Oh and no nasty noises , no oil everywhere, no holes in block and it turns over just fine

Nottm_S2 07-20-2016 11:54 AM

sounds terrible and all that work you did underneath.

i'll chuck you £10 and you'll never see me again

any fuel in it?

CHIPPO 07-20-2016 11:58 AM

I knew some one would ask about fuel ! Yes about. 4 bars showing and in sixteen years would only worry at 1 or zero .

Nottm_S2 07-20-2016 12:10 PM

who's more fuel, the fuel or the fuel who follows the fuel?

err. maybe the gauge is duff?

we had a diesel leak it's tank everywhere once. but in fairness, unless your nose is fuelcked you'd notice

CHIPPO 07-20-2016 12:20 PM

Fool more like a silly billy , I suppose the gauge could suddenly throw hissy fit and read seriously out . Will check just to keep you happy Notts!

Did run out once lots of coughing and spluttering and as I recall no nasty lights

Has it got an immobiliser that cuts out the fuel pump

CHIPPO 07-20-2016 12:58 PM

It's stil bog standard immobiliser Honda and HP alarm system as fitted new, the fuel cut off was ok , the inertia one near inside fuse box

Any other idea , Dave?

Here's some troubleshooting on a similar problem https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/115...ressure-no-run

Flanders , thanks for that tip , interesting will take a look at that at the weekend , and check out the relay operation , connections and feed to the pump.

Don't fancy costs of new pump , bit harsh being UK Honda , if it is the pump will look for 2nd hand , relay won't be a big issue one way or another .

flanders 07-20-2016 01:34 PM

Careful what you wish for, that relay is more expensive than a new Walbro pump.
Might be a bit easier to swap the relay though :)
