J's racing CF bonnet
I've been offered one of these at what seems a pretty reasonable price............. Havent actually seen it yet, but it's apparently got a few stone chips....... Having seen the the Mugen bonnet for sale on here, it has made me want to paint it the same way ( if I get it )
Was just wondering how difficult is it to paint carbon? can any normal spray shop do this? or is it a specialist job?
Has anyone got one of these bonnets btw?
Cheers

as far as im aware spraying on top of carbon fibre is no different to any other body pannel or fibre glass part, my friend does it on the side to make extra cash and gets good results.
you will need to:
- key up the carbon bonnet laquer with not to course sand paper or wet and dry (whole bonnet)
- primer (standard bodyshop primer)
- paint (standard bodyshop paint)
- laquer the entire bonnet (standard bodyshop laquer)
can then be buffed or polished and fitted.
make sure on the parts that will stay plain carbon arent keyed up to much as you want that to be a nice smooth finish when re-laquered.
