Just bought new plates for my new car.

Hmmmm......I had my illegally spaced plates made up last week - local car parts shop in Croydon - no questions asked, no signing of disclaimers, no warnings, no plate makers ID on the plates (this could be significant me thinks!!) The plates do use the new font, which is fine by me. The one thing they did mention was that the standard font, but with a mock 3d effect (characters made up of grey and black to give a 3d effect) are now illegal (but they could do me a set!!) as they confuse speed cameras - now we wouldnt wan't that would we

With a traffic cop in the family it is worth noting what he said. The new digital speed cameras will be configured to interpret the new font plates.
I have explained his approach to 'different' plates before but you shouldn't be worried by using the private plates particularly.
Sam.

Private Plates are the way to go particularly ones that indicate your driving an S2000. After many months of "what is it mister" I resorted to identifying it with S2000 OK. Works a treat, not had one question since, just jokers in Boxters/SLK trying it on & diappearing in the rear view.
Can anyone help with several problems I have with my 2000MY S2K:
I am now on Clutch No4 and Gearbox No2 but still have difficulties with high rev (9000rpm) change ups as well as 3rd-2nd change downs.
Steering also giving cause for concern....goes heavy light heavy round large roundabout or long sweeping bends....as though assistance cutting out.
Honda UK are having a merry song & dance about it and my dealer doesn't know what to do next.
Sound familiar to anyone?
If so & you have solved your problems pls met me know.
Excellent site keep the topics & replies going.

Hi Mike, welcome to the board.
S2000 OK - nice plate!!
Sorry to hear of your woes with the drivetrain, it may be worth checking with your dealer again as I believe that the MY2002 cars have a new (uprated) clutch and a further revised gearbox that may help with your problems. It could take some time for knowledge of these new parts to filter down through the service channels though. I don't know any specific's though I'm affraid
