Had the 54k service today. It was slightly overdue but I wasn't expecting how much it brought the car to life. I don't know whether its the spark plugs or the oil or the combination of both but its so much more lively especially in vtec. Driving it back reminded me of how I felt when I first started driving it nearly five years ago. Highly recommend anyone coming upto their 54k service to get it done sooner rather than later.

I live in Stratford. The name is silly and was supposed to be temporary but I ended up keeping it.

Whilst mine's only on around 35.5k I think my 54k service is due at some point in 2011.

Did you take it to Honda? Have heard the usual cowboy stories, and with this being a major service [spark plugs, diff fluid, not sure what other 'big' items?] would like to take it to someone trusted. It's been to Chiswick Honda all its life...

How much did it set you back if you don't mind me asking?

Yes I took it to Honda and probably for the last time as I plan on some upgrades later this year so I will probably stick with specialists from now on.

It cost me £415 at City Honda in Basingstoke (near where I work) and that was after I had the 15% discount for S2KUK membership applied. I was happy with the service, they seem to have done a good job and were very efficient. I would use them again if I needed to but as I said above I probably won't.

The service included new plugs, diff fluid and brake fluid over and above the usual. Pretty much everything is checked and changed except the gearbox oil which is due at 72k.

I would say that out of all my experiences at various Honda dealerships this was by far the best.
