That iCar OBD reader is really cool... I remember seeing this (or one very similar) on a crowd funding site a while back. I'd definitely get one if I wasn't running an AEM ems.

Can it translate error codes? I assume you can also raise the RPM gauge from 7k redline? It would be interesting to know how it reads/interprets power and torque values, too.

BTW, nice build mate - tidy car you have there!

I guess is does power the same way as Torque, using the weight of the car (input by user) and the acceleration from the accelerometers in your phone?

fortunately my S doesn't have any error code :-) but when I tried it with BMW (there is a known code it's shown for a while), it showed me the correct error code but it's P0 code which in my opinion it's too shallow to tell what exactly is wrong with the car. It shows the code and brief description i.e. P0170 Fuel Trim bank 1. You still have to determine what that means.

Good point about raising the RPM, you can add vehicle profiles and in there, you can tell the app the maximum and minimum RPM though the dashboard doesn't reflect the changes you make to max and min RPM.

no idea about power and torque yet but will play around with it more.

I think you're right on that Mark, there are a few apps, Torque (android), Dash command (iphone), Accurate (iphone)

it can show coolant temp, Intake temp, MAF, Fuel pressure, catalyst temp, and some more which I can't think off the top of my head. Haven't tested in full though.

need new tyres as these are too chunky, so will order AD08R soon. Such a shame, F1 ASM2s are still really in good condition.
