Lightweight/racing Battery
As title. Ive got a Buddyclub Racing battery, and ive just made a mounting kit for it in the boot.
My queston is, is anyone using one for their daily drive? is it something that can be used for that?
Im a little fuzzy on this area as far as battery and power levels is concerned.
My car has no air con (removed), not sure if that would make any difference whatsoever!

Do you have any modifications which could place a greater load on the battery? One obvious example is an external amp for your car stereo. My 5 channel amp used to drain my OEM battery in no time at all!

I enquired about the Buddy Club battery a couple of years ago and nobody had any in stock.
I have used both the Spoon and Varley (Red Top 25) batteries. The Varley lasted much longer before it needed to be replaced and it was a third of the price of the Spoon battery.
During the Summer the battery will last for a couple of weeks without the car being being used, before needing to be charged, during the winter I only get about a week.

thanks eSeM.
As for modifications, no, I have a Buddyclub Earthing kit, and an alpine single din with upgraded speakers, I was considering a small amp but Ill probably avoid that step.
I have a trickle charging kit, what I didnt want was it to drain overly quickly, but if it lasts as long as you say Esem im more than happy to leave it in there

It may be possible to install an efficient two channel amp without too great an impact - my Genesis Profile 2 doesn't hammer the battery like my old 5 channel amp did. Simple to gauge - just find out the amp hour rating of the battery and how many watts the amp consumes.

I am running a Powervamp racing battery, it's 12volt and 18amp/hr and is on the car throughout the season (apl-oct). This has been on trickle charge all winter and back on car last week and is fine.
Powervamp are in Weston Super Mare and very helpful I know you can get lighter than this one but a good compromise.
