to colour this conversation i have just had the boot floor replaced in my 2001 car.
it was not used in the wet but was washed. The rear boot vent seal failed, the boot filled up with water and rotted through as they are not well painted. £300 ish for the panel, I've yet to see the bill.

Also rust around the windscreen, caused by a poor fitment after Honda Grantham broke the windscreen doing what exactly? Kunts. An OEM seal is £270 ish so i will be facing a decent sized bill for minor rust repairs.

Wraps dont hide much depends how perfect you need it to be

having said that i do see the point.. a rusty car can still go

That's kind of my point, if you don't have a garage / off road parking it's going to pick up dings and dinks and if they come with a bit of rust .... there comes a point where you just accept that and enjoy using it. What Ray did was belt and braces, given that a lot of new owners throw them into ditches or write them off spinning on 'derv' .... making the bodywork nice enough to last 10 years is a fruitless exercise. You'd be better off spending it on driving lessons and fuel.

You might be right about the fitting kit, but hard tops are easily £1200 plus now - if they ever come up for sale.

I blame the Americans, their hard tops are about $3000 for OEM so i suspect they've been importing them from here and driving the prices up
