Default Low speed stuttering / Heat soak / Map whack

For the last year or so I have had poor running problems with my S2. Basically it was lousy in stop/start traffic and pulling out of junctions. I'd read the FAQ and all the threads and tried allsorts.

I've tried different intakes to see if it was heatsoak, the MAP whack, a new O ring on the map sensor, allsorts of stuff.

I ordered some new coil packs recently and while I was on Rock Auto's website I thought I may as well spend £30 in a new MAP sensor.

I fitted it this morning before work and it's cured the problem!

I can now do the whole stop/start thing without kangarooing down the road like a learner driver.

Bloody brilliant!

I have been having this issue recently too, is the MAP sensor easy to replace for a novice or is it better left for the garage/next service? Cheers

As long as you dont round the threads taking the sensor off its very easy.

@Gary Are they OEM parts or spurious?

They didn't do a denso part but listed 5 or 6 manufacturers. I picked the mid priced option.

2 screws and a connector plug and it's on the TB right at the top of the engine.

Did mine this morning in 2 mins while wearing a suit.

Can tell you're a contractor PM - so much money that you can use normal suits as boiler suits!
Not like the rest of us company-owned PM's!!!

Hey Gary, which was the O2 sensor you changed this weekend? Would you be able to post a link to where you bought it from?
