Default Lucky escape

Having only had the S a few months, I noticed today that one of the tyres fitted by the fool who had it before me has a split right around the wall. Just as well as I was due to spend a few hours on the motorway this evening. I've parked it up and have some RE050A's on order that due in tomorrow;

Probably been run flat, or something.

It's a Michelin Pillock, so you should switch to four decent ones anyway.

Looks like you had a lucky escape there. Had that "let go" on the Motorway you'd have been posting a very different type of thread.

Scary stuff. What worries me is the bit of tyre you don't get to see regularly (the inner sidewall) . OK so it may not be subject to the same kerbing abuse (we don't, though, do we?) but suffers pretty much the same as the outer, which is at least easily checkable.

Sounds like a good deal on the replacements.

Scary indeed.

And once you've got the tyre replaced... you need to bloody clean your wheels!
