Default In the market for my 3rd...

Hi all,

After looking at my car options (and as a PHer I have gone through a lot!), I have decided to get yet another S2000.

The first one I bought new in 2001 (the euro/pound conversion cheaper buy from belgium and ship over kind of thing), sadly this had to go to fund a house deposit. The second was bought in 2007, just because I knew it was a good car and could afford another new car.

The 3rd will have to be a used purchase, so I am a little lost on what to look for, not the typical mechanicals, as I'm sure there is a guide around here somewhere for that, no, instead I'm looking at the wear and tear, I know the cost of a new roof for example is a lot (replaced under warranty by Honda for 2.5k back in the day), but if I look at a car and the driver bolster looks grubby, or the seat material looks heavily used / stretched, or even the wheel has that tired shiney look, I'm looking to walk away. What am I looking at to replace these items? either like for like or even for something better? I appreciate a car can be kept looking sparkly from the outside, but unless it is a genuine 1 lady owner that has had it as a garage queen, the inside of these things do look heavily used (from the few that I have looked at). Around £10-12k is my play money, ideally from a dealer, ideally 08 plate, reasonable?

thx!
A.

With that budget you will find a mint car. Just seen an 08 moonrock gt with 10k miles on for £12.5k. The leather in the late models is apparently a lower grade so may look untidier sooner. Steeing wheel shouldn't be shiny but I know an easy fix. Roof on a car like that should be mint as well esp if you get a gt.

It's probably easier to find a low mileage one in your price range than it is to get an 04-07 one.

Robin on here can refurb the standard steering wheel, might be worth PM'ing him to discuss your needs.
