mileage 90k too high?
Hi guys.
With all the recent engine blowups I have read about recently what do you think these cars can go up to? Be interested to the see the average mileage people have on here.I k know most of these so called blowups are most likely due to oil starvation but I'm looking at ahistory priced for a friend on sat and it has 90k on the clock but full service history
Seen a blue one on piston heads 2004 for 5995 which looks a good price but it had 90k on the clock. If anyone wants to take a look for me its the one in Essex

90K + full service history = No issues (in theory)
I got mine on 97k (now 103k) only one issue due to a neglecting previous owner. I have had no issue and the car pulls strong as anything.
I wouldn't be put of by mileage in the slightest with anything registered 1999 - 2004, considering the average is 12k per year.
FSH is always good

I wouldn't see a problem with it, one of mine is 80k and another 90k iirc and no issues with either (00/01 respectively). You'll just have to look it over to see but the pics look good bar not showing the drivers bolster.

Don't need to buy a new seat - swap the bottoms.
If the car has a full history then it should be ok. A car could have 5k miles on it and then blow because of oil starvation. Unless you own from brand new, that's the chance you take.
I know a few guys on here have them still pulling strong at 150k. (GaryB's 100k+ miler has NOS on it too and it still pulls).

Im on 119,000 miles and all seems well. Keep on top of the oil, not much more you can do.
As Andy says, a low miler has the potential to be just as prone to have been starved of oil as a high miler.
With an 04+ they drink a load less oil then a 99-03 so chances of oil starvation are even less. So if.it's got FSH with regular oil changes, Id be happy with that.

Its quite promising I guess that the as included the pics of the service book. He has had it for two years which is also a bit more reassuring compared to someone who had only had it for a fee months.he just emailed me a video of it starting up from cold too
