Seems reasonably priced for a facelift - plus Pensioner Blue is the best colour (but not as fast as Imola Orange, obviously )

I'd love 90k. Mines over 165k now.

If you are suspicious, you could always do a compression test on the engine (wet and dry) as that will give you a good idea of engine health.

Things can begin to get quite expensive at that age.

Mine is on 126k now but since 90k I've had a new clutch, brake callipers, catalytic convertor, alternator, starter motor, timing chain & guides and suspension arms. I also had the gearbox changed as that was getting a bit crunchy, though I got a relatively new one for a great price from here.

Admittedly, some of those things were preventative/maintenance and I could probably have cut corners or left them for longer, but it is worth noting.

If the car has a full history then it should be ok. A car could have 5k miles on it and then blow because of oil starvation. Unless you own from brand new, that's the chance you take.

I know a few guys on here have them still pulling strong at 150k. (GaryB's 100k+ miler has NOS on it too and it still pulls).
Sailed through an MOT yesterday with 169,000 miles on the clock and still very healthy dyno readings. Regular oil changes but no internal engine work done.

As long as it's been serviced well, with regular oil changes it should be fine.

My cousin had a 2004 with 75k on the clock, I just bought a 2004 with 85k on the clock, he drove mine and said mine drove a hell of alot better than his old one. Only issue with mine was the clutch needed doing. Got that sorted last week and now it's perfect!

If the engine has been serviced well, and not run on low oil etc then it should go will over 100k without issue. The members on here over the last 12m have been 'unlucky' in that the engine hadn't shown any signs of it going pop I don't think.

As lovegroova stated though, things like the clutch and callipers etc could go soon if they haven't already been replaced. Average lifespan of a clutch seems to be around 80-100k from what I've seen.

I'm on 116k and flew through it's MOT on Monday with no advisories!
As mentioned before, keep checking the oil. I check mine weekly, it does use a noticeable amount but well within limits.

Oh, I also forgot that it needed a new fuel tank as the old one had rusted, brake lines and a handbake cable to get through its 2013 MOT. Cost was £1000 or so.

Fortunately, it passed the 2014 MOT with no advisories.
