Mirrored no claims policy

Mirrored no claims policy
I'm in the throes of buying a little 205, and wondering about insuring it with the same insurer as the S2000, on a mirrored no claims policy.
I understand the 205 would not strictly be "using" the no claims discount, and the insurance provider is simply offering the same level of discount on the 2nd car, but what happens if you make a claim on that 2nd car policy?
Would the S2000 policy be affected? (beyond the fact you need to declare you've made a claim in x years)
Will I lose the 8 years no claims discount on the S2000??
Given the 2nd car wouldn't be truly using the certified no claims, can you continue to benefit from it after the claim? Ie there was never really a "no claims" discount in the first place to be reset to zero.
This is all hypothetical I'm pleased to say, but keen to understand it.
Curiously, a mirrored policy with my current (reputable) insurer (8 years NCD) is slightly more than I've found using a comparison site and zero NCD. But admittedly that's with a company I've never heard of.

I found the best way was to ring your current insurer and see what they can offer. Online quotes that mirror are usually never competitive.
I was pretty happy with the quote i was offered with Axa, when i added the S2K to an existing policy for my Civic.
They indicated it will accumulate NCB, and a claim on one should not affect the other - so all in all seemingly a separate policy, but came in at under £300.

Similar cars so as he said you should be able to multicar them, if your no claims isnt protected then any claim would affect it i guess

I have 3 cars at the moment (E90, S2000 and a 205 track car) and both the s2000 and 205 insurance policies have the no claims mirrored off my E90.
The E90 is insured with Direct line and the other 2 are with Adrian Flux, if I were to make a claim with Adrian Flux this wouldn't affect my NCB on the BMW but I would have to declared that I had made a claim when I come to renew.
