Default Muz Mats - Roof well mat

Definitely getting some Muz mats for the footwells.

I have an 04 car and was wondering if it is worth getting the roof well mat as well.

Am I right in thinking that although it will fit my car it was specifically designed to reduce scratching on the plastic window variant (mine's glass). Does it reduce road noise? I don't want to get one if it is of no benefit. Would rather spend it on something else.

Cheers

Martin

I made my own not long ago from some material you get in Halfords for covering sub boxes. Through trial and error I made a paper template and then used that to cut out the right shape. I then stuck it down the double sided tape.

If I did any cutting with a sharp blade I would end up looking like your avatar (Minus a few digits ).

Why did you make it, apart from the cost issue? Was it to protect the window or did you notice an increase in sound proofing?

Cheers for the advice, worth looking into though

I have a Muz one - I bought it to protect the rear screen from scratches....which it does very well.

I did the same for sound proofing reasons and backed it with ribbed rubber mat.
This cut down the noise a lot and stops it moving around.

Ditto using some thin black tufted capet blagged from the waste bin of local carpet shop.
Not that a later car glass window needs protecting, just finishes the area off nicely.

I made it to protect the rear window from scratching. Mine wouldn't help with sound proofing as it only covers the central section where the windows rests.
