true, its for looks alone.
i still have the standard 16's aswell for winter etc.
The rays need a full refurb and frankly look a little dated to me.

Ha....I wondered if you were on S2KI, I saw your car parked outside halfords today, I popped in on my dinner for some castrol edge. Gone up a quid over the last few months I work on Livingstone road a stone throw away from Marshall Honda, seen you around a few times, always when your parked so can't put a face to the car. PM me if you want to chat. I do believe the picture of your car was when it was at East Park show?

Definitely a Marmite thing, but I think MB is onto something there, that's a massive compromise with safety and performance, its a big stretch.
Fair play to you for trying that out, I would expect some extra wear on the front components with that big an offset. (BTW, I am coming from the logic of the classic mini, where the suspension orginally set up for 10" and 12" x 4" tyres, when they fitted the mini cooper sport 13x6" wheels, the stress on the bearings and bushes made them wear out about 3 times faster!)

the stretch currently is a little bit too much i agree, so the next tyres wont be as stretched.. but as they are brand new all round, i'll get my monies worth first.

I had a new set of Rays which were 8.5 all round and when I put 215s on they were stretched, but not quite that much and the Tyre went down within a couple of days.
My buddy clubs stick out nearly that much since Ive fitted the Hi-Spec brakes,I think they look awfull on my car but cant afford to do anything about it just now.
