a nailed cam
naughty naught previous owner of my car!
lack of oil (or a faulty cam) has lead to the inlet cam wearing away prematurely on 1 lobe (cyl1, vtec stage1 lobe).
so it's going to be a new cam for me.
question is: is it going to be worth it to whack some money down and take my pick on some performance cams? i dont know much about the other mods you need todo with cams, but some are tuned for free-flow manifolds etc which i have no intention of doing.
i'll deffinately be buying a new inlet cam+follower on the affected lobe, and chances are i'll be getting ECU re-tuned to run on the more available 95/97/98 ron fuel. currently spec'ed to run on 100ron because it's JDM.
stick with a single stock replacement cam + possible retune of ecu
or
splash out (insurance willing) on some performance cams + possible retune of ecu?

Depending on what ECU you have you can increase the fuel pressure to get the best performance out of them.
Changing the cams/springs is a hell of a job.

I've just posted on you other thread.
As Steve says change the retainers
The F20C is not know for great gains from cam changes especially on the stock ECU
To tune out the high RON dependence on the JDM ECU you need to go for an aftermarket ECU and get it mapped by some one WITH experience of thing the F20C.
IMHO unless you are going to mod up I'd just rework the head and keep it stock.
If you do mod up I may have a suitable ECU available

@Steven keep an eye on yank 4sale usually 1 a fortnight 4sale, got to be quick as they don't hang around long.
@Mikey, if you don't plug the U in you've got a 1052.
@Veehexx, did you get the car off the forum?
