Default Need Advice Please on a Potential Purchase! New (Hopefully) S2K Owner

Hi All,

This is my first post on here, apologies in advance for the probably silly questions.

I am now in a position to buy an S2000 and want to buy the right one. I would really appreciate any advice on whether the car i saw today is worth going for.

The car:

its a 2005 (05) reg GT, one owner from new and 28,000 miles.

It has part service history, 2005 to 2013 its by Honda, it then sat in a garage for 6 years driven 1000 miles and last month serviced at a local independent garage ready for sale.

It has been garaged its whole life.

The owner is retired and during the test drive he did not take it past 4000 rpm! I dont think hes ever even hit the Vtec! So I know its definitely not been thrashed at all.

It has a hard top and stand/ cover.

Interior is in very good condition

Exterior does need work it has some scratches and a couple of carpark dinks. All 4 alloys need a full refurb.

He wants £12,300.00. Do you think this a reasonable price?

One final question is i thought this would be an AP2 car.......it has the bumper changes/ light upgrades/ 17" alloys etc but the VIN plate states AP1 and the rev counter redlines at 9000rpm so I am slightly confused?!

Ive attached some photos for reference - including the engine plate and pictures of the engine condition.

Thanks in advance for your help!

David

Thanks noodles, i think all the youtube videos i have been watching are American, threw me a bit! Does this mean this car im looking at doesn't have the benefits of the "AP2" such as updated throttle / differential etc? I thought the later engines didn't redline as high?

Default That’s a great price for North American Standards

Personally I think that’s a great price for North American standards. Considering the condition, mileage and hardtop. I don’t think you can go wrong.

The engine bay looks like one from a car that has covered rather more than 28000 miles.

Got any pictures of the driver's seat?

And it's not in Sussex is it? I have experience of a 'retired' owner with low mileage cars who is in reality a front for his dealer son.
