I've had my car just over a month, it's slighty over 1500 miles, I check the oil at every fuel fill and the oil hasn't dropped at all.

I don't know if it makes a difference but 90% of my running in was done on motorways. Then again it could just be down to luck.

I haven't VTEC'd it at all. I am running in as I still only have 300 miles on the clock. I have been running up to 3500 and up to 4500 very briefly a couple of times yesterday.

Mine used about 1/4 of a litre on running in and now uses nothing. At the last service in August i had it changed to Mobil One and it hasn't used a drop. My 2000MY used to use loads of Mobil One due to it bing so thin but the newer cars don't seem so bad.

Just keep an eye on it.

In 18000 miles I have not needed to buy any oil. It's not moved from the top since I got it.

I am not afraid of the odd VTEC either

Oil can be used more when the engine is cold.
