You can get yours refurbed or buy on exchange, returning yours for a deposit once you've put the refurb units on

i wouldnt buy from Honda as they are just Nissin parts (a japanese brake manufacturer 110W – Make Difference From OEM Quality) and Honda seem to enjoy screwing us on parts, £220 a side by the look of it (https://www.hendyeshop.co.uk/s2000-h...3-294651-p.asp)

i got mine refurbed, pretty expensive but a very nice durable paint finish and new pistons etc and still a lot cheaper than even Hendy (who are very good btw)

I've got a sticky rear calliper and was going to buy a refurbished one from brakes international but I've sourced one from my local Cargo for around £80.

For info brakes international sell the refurb kits (seals & piston) for around £40

Lots of useful info here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/uk-irela.../#post23172406

Note that most remanufacturers do not refurb the carriers, which is often where the problem lies.

Doing the rear DIY kit has the added bonus of messing about with the handbrake mechanism. Unless you are into a bit of masochism, have some long nose circlip pliers that are just the right size and have a day to mess around with them, I'd go for a professional exchange refurb or pattern part.

I'd steer clear (or at least buyer beware) of the "HONDA S2000 S 2000 REAR BRAKE CALIPER NISSIN OS RIGHT HAND SIDE DRIVER 1999 -ONW - NOT CHEAP CHINE COPY NEW CALIPER WITH 12 MONTH WARRANTY" on eBay as they appear to be from Dewsbury Auto Salvage and they don't have the best rep for customer service on these forums.

Iv'e bought 1 front calliper and both rears from DAS with no problems. Had no reason to get involved with their customer services though.

Got a pair of rears from DAS, been on three years with no problem (so far).

Mine seized recently. Took it to Honda and they sent them off for refurb, pleasantly surprised.

Have many refurbed their own calipers and if so how did they work out?
