Has anyone got an alternative way of contacting this guy? I'm booked in on Wednesday (19th march) I've tried contacting him to confirm the booking last Thursday, Friday and all day today and he's not answering the phone.

It's a 5 hour journey there with a stop over, it's a long way to go to find out he won't be there, so I'm pretty stuck what to do at the moment

Off with the NA car in a couple of weeks

Same approach, drive to Swansea evening before, hotel, at Raymonds early ish, he cracks on, I go find food

Swapping Flexi window for rigid

Let's hope the weather holds out.. I need to get some miles in the car as I swapped the rad and AC and it's probably done 50 miles since.. I have to move a car (the Civ) to get it out and have not been doing that as I break that car in.

I've probably put more miles on the bike than all the cars combined lately, really enjoying that thing

Yes Jason it's done, he did it on April 29. It took him 3 hours. He did mine quite taut, I was not allowed to lower the top for 2 days. He said one S2K owner complained bitterly about rainwater in the seals after him fitting a new roof, and in the end he refunded him. So now he makes the hood somewhat wider so that it covers the seals - I had some ingress there with the old roof, but not now. Also, he confirmed that my boot leak was from water gathering at the sides of the rear window where the fabric overlaps. This is easy to verify, pour a bucket of water at the rear of the roof, and then open the roof to vertical, you will see a little puddle. Ray has made a product improvement in that he now puts a rubberised membrane between the hood and the car at the rear - he does this to all cars now, this to remove the risk of water ingress in to the car or boot. I found him a pleasant chap, however he does go on about immigrants a lot. This could be a local habit, I have dealt with other people from Swansea, they hate everybody, even the English. Also, the sign above the garage door Jack Smith is no longer there, there is no sign. Do research the location before you go if you have not been before.

I wandered around in the area, and found to my surprise everybody dumps their rubbish in the front yard! I also found a very nice beach. It was a glorious, sunny and warm day. So as I always do I went there hoping to see tanned nubiles wearing only the bottom part of the bathing costume, but I was disappointed on that score. There were though a lot of zimmer frames.

He has some difficult customers. Ateotd he is modifying the car to fit a rigid window to a flex window frame and he is doing it for a price noone matches

His work is high quality ime

The town has suffered the same as every UK seaside I guess, plus it's lost some significant industry in port Talbot

The beach is great.

I enjoyed chewing the fat with him

Aware of the location from the boosted beast but tah

I am quite amused as there is a slight possibility this was about me.

I am going to be posting a thread shortly on my experience. Spoiler alert it was appalling - the roof is unacceptable and his manners and customer service are disgraceful.

PS. I drove down to give benefit of doubt to raise some concerns and just chat to him in case he could look at and adjust anything, to which he blew up making threats and trying to just throw partial refunds at me for me to 'F' off. The water ingress was one minor thing I mentioned, he didn't even let me discuss the other things.
