Yes, if the camshafts worn they can replace it, or they'll replace the cam followers. Sounds very dodgy though, shouldn't happen to a newish engine if its been well looked after i.e. well oiled

I can see a small article in Autoexpress on the cards. The so called mechanics who listened to the car were obviously from the "Its your big ends mate" school of motor engineering.
