Thanks for your reply by the way. I took ur advice and I checked out the FS section but at the moment there isnt much going in terms of 2004 onwards (i made my mind up in the end that 04+ is the way forward).
Im checking every day all over the internet. If you see anything that catches ur eye Gaspode, let me know please. You pretty much know what my budget is.

Hey folks
<---- Newb!
I'm a petrolhead, from Warrington - been living/working in London, carless for about 2 years, but just about to move to Bristol, so I can get another car. Woot!!
Been thinking of an S2000, if I can find one cheap enough, so am doing my research
If anyone's got links to buying guides/problems etc i'd be grateful

Hi People
I'm also new to the site.
Bought my first S2 10 days ago - amazing!!!
Managed to get an 02 plate with 78k on the clock in very good condition.
Had just been serviced, which new break pads, discs and rear bridgestone tyres on the rear - touch!!
soft top does have a slight hole in the normal place where it rubs against the frame! Was thinking about changing the roof before the winter comes around.
roll on summer...

Yeah that's kinda what I was looking to spend, thanks - I guess all the ones called 'Roadster' are imports then. Are there many differences between UK/imports? I used to own an import MX-5 a few years ago and they were identical.
I'm still in the market for a good buyers guide

Roadsters are not necessarily imports. A roadster is a car supplied without a hardtop, whilst a GT is one that came with one. Hardtops can be retrofitted to Roadsters with an appropriate fitting kit.

Yeah I had a quck skim last night - read up on some of the bush problem stuff. Was hoping there'd be a concise buyers guide/common problems type post, but couldn't find one
Ahhh, ty for the definitions - i'll just have to keep an eye out for the square rear number plates to tell then
ISTR that early ones can have driveline related problems (clutch/diff or g/box) - is that right?
