Update:
  • Police rang last week, unable to identify faces on cctv so case closed. Weren't interested in fingerprinting gas cylinder.
  • Autoglass were due to fit the glass last friday, but cancelled at last minute as they had forgotten to order the trims!

All makes you wonder, what kind of country are we now forced to live in, and why the hell do we pay part of our council tax to fund policing? We have few enough cops and those we have always have an excuse to do feck all.

As for Autoglass, makes you think the insurance company is footing the bill so no rush, the end customer can wait.

Bet you'd get loads of press (and a record) if you threw the cylinder through the local plod stations window, bet they would use their CCTV and have you fingerprinted!

That frustrating, and typical Autoglass it seems. I suppose with a depleted police force, criminal damage is pretty low down on the list of priorities. Certainly worth bearing in mind if you park in the road or in a public place.

Having removed a hardtop rear glass to replace it with a Lexan one on my race car, I can say with some degree of authority that it's an absolute c××t of a job.

Make sure you photograph your hardtop clearly and closely in case they damage it.

Thanks for the advice, will do. I'm currently trying to make sure they get all the necessary parts to do a proper job, they keep trying to make me go with their generic rubber trim instead of waiting for the Honda rubber molding on backorder to arrive. Does anyone know if parts 3,4 & 5 are also required from this diagram?
