Default Non-standard alarms/immobiliser question (Toad)

Hi all

So my S2K is fitted with a Toad thatcham approved alarm and immobiliser

I'm told it's one of the better ones, and quite frankly in 6 months of ownership it's proven itself very well. I'm not usually a fan of alarms or anything.. (Old school!)

Quick silly question though, in the obscene high winds we have had recently, I have had the alarm go off once or twice. Due to having an immobiliser anyway, and living in a fairly safe area... I left the car unlocked.

After a very short period of time the car then immobilises itself so it can't be driven away without physically 'unlocking' it again.

So my question is.. is this detrimental to the car in anyway, leaving it in a state of 'immobilised' as the small red dot that usually flashes when the alarm is on becomes a solid red light.

It's not hurting the battery at all is it? Am I over-thinking this one? Hahaha.

Thanks chaps!!

you'll need to test it yourself with a multimeter, just pull your earth and put the meter in between terminal and earth lead

your battery will be 50-60Ah so you can figure our how quick it'll run flat and even test if the two states make a difference. if they do that energy is going somewhere

edit to say here's a vid which might help
