Don't get me wrong. I don't mind guns in their rightful places (carried a 7.62 & a 5.56, which kept falling apart, for a number of years...) but this is really scary.

That thread remained fairly objective IMO. The conversation could have become very heated based on previous discussions about firearms on this board.

It's also hard for us Aussies to comprehend ever having the liberty to arm ourselves. I'm neither for or against gun ownership. I personally think I'd be a responsible gun owner but there are many many people I would prefer not to have the same liberty.

However.. if the Texas guys want holsters I'll try and create them.

Down a blind alley this - but the UK legal system has been mentioned.
Today's (6 Sept) Times has a couple of interesting snippets.
Juxtapose P2 'News in Brief' Item 5 with the article by Frances Gibb on P 5. Interesting viewpoint on legal system, perceptions, mores - at least I thought so - couldn't get 5 down at that stage
