Default Odometer gone!

Filled the S2000 up with its usual V-power and reset the trip counter earlier today, then i have just been out in the car again and the odometer and trip counter have gone! Tried turning the car off and on a couple of times, switched between trip A and B and MPH/KPH but no joy. The trip and odometer light up with the rest of the speedo assy when you 1st turn it on but then those 2 lines go. Any ideas?

Check for any 'additional' wiring behind the panel by your left knee...you may have dislodged something relevant to Mugen's post

I have definitely seen this problem on the board before, yanks have encountered it too.

I believe it's a problem with the nand/memory chip that stores the odo/trip info.

It will need to be replaced.

I had a problem like this, mine was due to the chip that stores the mileages inside the clocks unit being fried (by whoever did the jdm->uk clock swap over).

I took my clocks out and sent it to this chap - http://www.marklamond.co.uk/ who fixed if for me (recommended by Kiwi).

I'll see if I can find the original thread.

Looks like it could be that chastmeister, what was the turn around for the work been done and how much to ship it to him. Unfortunatly im working 7 days a week on preparations for the Juke at work so i cant get any time off to be without a car.

From the date of my posts it looks like Mark had it about a week and a half, it'll vary according to his workload though.

Drop him a mail and get in contact and I'm sure you can discuss timescales with him.

When I sent it to him I sent it UPS because I wanted the insurance (I dread to think what Honda would want for a new one, I'm sure it'd be the wrong side of £500 easily) so the £20 or similar that I paid for peace of mind was worth it.

I was fortunate that I could leave the car in bits in my garage for the time and use a different car.
