Make sure you tighten it up properly when you fit the new one, hand tight isn't enough and you don't want it rattling off.
if you do screwdriver it mak sure you dont damage the thread or sealing face of the filter.

Maybe boring but sometimes experience is worth something ? and in the long run could actually save you all the money you thought you had saved doing it yourself.

I've never had a mEchanic touch my car since brand new, all work is done by myself to a lot higher standard than Honda.

Glad to hear you got it sorted in the end.
Question for those in the know. If you do an oil change should you always change the oil filter?
