Default Oil usage

Hello

I'm sure there's nothing to be concerned about, however I just thought I'd ask....... My 2009 32k doesn't seem to use any oil between services, I drive 4-6k per year and have owned the car 3 years, during this time I have never had to top up the oil between services. Is this normal? When reading on here it seems that people have to top up quite regularly.

Tom

It's the pre 04 cars that can use oil so yours shouldn't use any.

Mine doesn't appear to use any but I keep checking at every fill up anyway - I've still got a full 1L Castrol Edge sitting waiting to be used

My pre 04 doesn't use any now after I changed the valve stem seals. Done over 3000 miles now and the sump is still on the full mark.

So, if your pre 04 is using lots of oil, think about changing your stem seals and your retainers (may as well whilst the cams are out). Budget about £300 for parts and labour.
