One for the Suspension Gurus..

If anyone can get hold of the H&R suspension kit, I deem that the best for on road use.
Really can't fault it at all - stiffer than stock, but composed and compliant. 6.3kg/mm all round
I remember that my 'friend' had some and was amazed how he did 120 leptons round a sweeping bend with a massive bump. The car took it and carried on. He did eventually swap it out for some nutter Tein Monoflex because he likes the stiffer setup.

But the CR has working front and rear aero.
So no good comparing track times between them
and wrongly assuming its down to suspension.
It's also a lot lighter than the other, too. And has sticky 255 rears.
But certainly, even the low-speed handling (where aero has no effect) was quite highly-regarded. So a lot is.

Thanks for that Simon; me eyes are getting worse.
The article is very professionally-presented and the methodology well-detailed. Furthermore, the results do appear to correlate with the waffle in Honda's press releases (why can't we have FACTS, Mr Gradgrind?) such that I've no reason to assume they've been "massaged" as is the case with so many these days....
Certainly for the springs; we've no indication whether the spring steel in the ARBs was changed at any stage so must assume the numbers are correct.
Which is all well & good, but I'm not entirely sure how it helps us over here, since IIRC, not all market setups were identical.
Of course, in anyone would like to repeat the measurements over here, we'd have a definitive answer to that.
But since it's the only information we've got, it's a start.

Craig,
The "received wisdom" above is that for an MY02, the rears are slightly softer than the fronts, but I recall you mentioned they were 250lbs/inch all round in the Nitrons are go thread.
Is the "new value" of 246/309 closer to the truth please?

OEM are: (Stock)
2000-2001 - Front: 218lbs (3.9 Kg/mm) - Rear: 291lbs (5.2Kg/mm)
2002-2003 - Front: 240lbs (4.3 Kg/mm) - Rear: 230lbs (4.1Kg/mm)
I preferred to go for the balance of the original S2000 spring rates, rather than the MY02 spring rates

Thanks Craig,
I quoted those OEM MY02 rates on the previous page, but the article suggests that those are not correct, or are they what Nitron measured? I think there's something in your thread about 250lbs.
Ah, here it is https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...dpost&p=8041166

Great day at Nitron today. Very impressive set up.
They are very committed to get more kit on S and spent most the day measuring and testing the OEM shocks on my car. Interestingly it turns out the spring rates on the +04 cars is actually slightly harder than the 02
Mk 2 240 230
Mk 3 250 250
They have a great bit of kit for testing the springs and putting the damper through various types of load cycles to check its responses

I have dyno graphs for the OEM shocks which refer to deflection (in mm) for a given weight. No simple "spring rate is X" statement. I don't recall anything about 250lb springs but perhaps you will find something.
